Host Organization Applications

Thank you for your interest in applying to become the host organization for PACM.

PACM is a coalition organization that currently has just over 30 member organizations with representation from across the province. PACM meets as a group 3 times a year but where the coalition  really shines is on our  subcommittee work. We have recently developing Active Transportation Commercials and delivering initiatives such as “Fueling Physical Activity”

 

 PACM just recently hosted its third summit. It was themed “Recreation and Active Transportation … Essential Services for Healthy Active Communities in Manitoba”. While the final report is still in the process of being compiled, there have already been some great ideas come forward to help direct the work of PACM for the next year.  

 

PACM is an organization that traditionally moves to a new host organization every 2 years. Please take a few minutes to read through the Host Organization Terms of Reference and the Application Process outlined below.

 

Application Process for Selecting a New Host Organization

 

Step 1. Deadline for Applications September 15, 2010

-        A Letter of intent will be solicited from the applicant organization. Applicant should outline the following:

o   Why your organization would like to apply to host PACM

o   What your organization could bring to the organization

o   Tell us about your organization, the mission and goals and how they intersect with those for PACM

o   The capacity of your  organization to administer PACM

Step 2.

-        Applications will be reviewed

Step 3

-        New host organization will be announced in October.

Step 4

-        New Host will take over hosting duties for PACM in April of 2011

Terms of Reference

 

Host Organization Criteria

 

1. The host organization agrees to provide chair resources to the coalition. A host organization agrees to provide the coalition with in-kind resources required including photocopying, office space and other office supplies. (The reimbursement of all unusual operational and project specific expenses incurred, will be open to negotiation with the executive.)
2. A host organization must be a legal entity, e.g. an incorporated body.
3. A host organization must be a member in good standing with PACM.
4. That a member of the potential host organization be involved in the executive of PACM for at least a year prior to the application

 

PACM Chair Responsibilities

 

1. Chair PACM General meetings and PACM Executive meetings.
2. Represents PACM at formal presentations and community events or delegates this task to another executive member.
3. Provides leadership and support in the planning and maintenance of the PACM and it’s initiatives.
4. Actively involved in the planning and development of PACM initiatives.

 

Host Organization Term

 

1. It is intent of the committee that a host organization be selected once every two years, one year from the date that PACM is scheduled to move.

 

Benefits of Hosting PACM

 

1.     There will be a small honorarium fee paid to the host in the amount of $100/month to cover administrative costs.
